All of the music that is already here will stay available, unless Blogger closes it down.

But I will not be posting on this blog anymore, basically that "Content Warning" is a death knell for a blogger, and who knows when they will ever remove it. It's just like fighting city hall with both hands tied behind your back. It's not worth the hassle. Despite the fact that there is ten years work on here.

It was a tasteful and artistic picture. One would have to be an absolute pervert to see anything sexual in it. A hearty Easter welcome to Charity Children.

I'll let them introduce themselves.

A motley indie-folk band of lovers, travelers and rogues; ‘Charity Children’ hail from all over the world. A project born and raised on the streets of Berlin- their raw energy, enchanting melodies and benevolent spirit have developed a sound which rejoices in an idealism shared by many living in the German capital. Originally a duo of New Zealand lovers, the band continues to evolve, collecting new members as each year passes, each bringing a unique element representing the freedom for which the project was created. Folk songs of joy and melancholy, ‘Charity Children’ endear themselves to those who listen, embodying a creed which defines the band “Aspire not, rejoice instead, Farewell the lives which we once led.”

Members:
Chloë Lewer : Vocals, Ukulele, Keys and Percussion
Elliott McKee : Vocals, Ukulele, Guitar, Harmonica and Melodeon
Dave Sills: Cello, Keys

OK, so now we know all about them and who they are let's get to the reason for your visit. The music.
And what great music it is.

This the latest release from their recent album "Fabel" released at the end of February.
It is a great tune, and Chloë has a beautiful voice.
An intriguing voice.
One you can listen to forever.

Do I see a trend here, or do they just leave home a lot.
They have some nice harmonies going on this lively tune.

This is another great song from them.

Sometimes in life we push away the people who we're closest to, because we ourselves are going through difficult times.
Meet Little Green Cars, they are Stevie Appleby, Faye O'Rourke, Adam O'Regan, Donagh Seaver O'Leary and Dylan Lynch.
And they hail from Dublin, Ireland.

Little Green Cars are an Irish indie, alt-country-rock band.

They produce amazing harmonies and some very very deep songs.
A true pleasure to listen to.

They have just released their new album 'Ephemera' which is now available on CD, Vinyl and digital download.

Hunt for it folks, you won't be disappointed.

Little Green Cars said this about the album.

Ephemera means the passing of time, the fading of light and the beauty of a moment. The songs we've written for this record try to confront some big truths head on. Sometimes the truth is frightening, sometimes it disappoints you, and sometimes it only inspires more questions. But it is only by confronting it that you can begin to decipher its meaning and grow. These songs will forever mean so much to us, as they represent a time in our lives where so much was changing. At first it was scary and often it could be painful, but in time it grew into something beautiful. Something that will remain, despite the passing of time or the fading of light.

OK, so why are we here? For the music of course.
This first track is from the new album 'Ephemera'.
What a beautifully crafted song, and what an amazingly beautiful voice.
Oh yes, and those drums, wow.
A very atmospheric video.
I'm really digging this track.

Oh boy have we got a treat for you today, courtesy of my buddy Bill in Puerto Vallarta.
Meet Nat Pearson who is a beautiful talented young lady who hails from Perth, Australia.

Her debut pop-rock/country track ‘Senseless’, carried her straight to the Top 10 Pop Artists in the Australian Independent Music Awards (MusicOz) in 2013. She was voted WA's RAW: Musician of the year in 2015, and recently opened for Jessica Mauboy and Nathaniel at their Perth show.

Her current single release is "Chance at Love" which is a really cool country / pop song.
There is no video as yet, but you can catch a taste of it in the last video on this post.

Did I mention she is cute.

So enough of the verbiage, let's get to the music.

I have always liked this song, I guess my favorite of all Guns N Roses songs.
And Nat provides a great acoustic version with Troy Nababan on guitar.

Nat in top voice.

Nat here tackles another acoustic cover, and very very impressive it is.
When you consider how good Dolores O'Riordan's voice is, this version of the Cranberries hit is spectacular.
Love it.

Ok, so today I have a treat for any of you that have not yet checked out Låpsley.

Låpsley is a beautiful young lady from Liverpool, first in the new Mersey invasion.

Låpsley is a talented singer / songwriter following the electronic genre, you are going to be hearing lots more from her.

So enough verbiage, let's get to the music.

Check out her new track just recently released.
Cliff is taken from her current album Long Way Home, released March 4.
Sounds not a bit like some of the other Brit birds, and that's not a bad thing.
Very catchy / troubling song.
I really like it.
Thanks to my old pal Penz for turning me on to it.
And thanks to Moji Taali for putting together the collection.

These are the words of Moji Taali

This is my first collection of voices of Iranian women. It contains music produced by Iranian female singers and musicians, whose voices have been suppressed in recent years. They are forbidden from singing alone and can only sing along with men.

This is my contribution to reversing this cycle. These songs only have female singers and men -at most- just play along.

I hope you enjoy these beautiful voices and peaceful sounds as much as I do. And if you do, please share it with other friends! Of course I also welcome any feedback.
Follow me @moji-taali for more upcoming sets.

Today we meet a talented young lady from Marlow, Bucks in England.

That's just around the corner from where I lived (High Wicombe) for a while.

But she is currently based in London, the greatest city in the world.

We'll start of with a terrific track with Lee Dunham.
Taken from Doris Brendel's album "Not Utopia", "Kind to Be Cruel" is a dreamscape featuring orchestra players from Hertfordshire, UK, and filmed at the Drill Hall in Ware.
This next cool track features a retro music style vid....
in a hark back to the Silent Age....
A scratched, damaged, grainy, de-focused, distorted, chewed up vintage style art affair.

I haven't posted much shoegaze lately, but this is such a fantastic track I thought I had to share it.

Innerspace Orchestra was formed recently as a trio who are Tom Furse (The Horrors), Cathy Lucas (Fanfarlo), and Rose Dougall (Mark Ronson, the Pipettes).

This is a group that could go a long way.

And they have come up with this shimmering beauty of a track.

Enjoy.

An awesome talent from Sweden, who could easily storm the charts on this side of the pond, meet the beautiful Miriam Bryant.

A lady with a terrific set of pipes.
Miriam was born in Göteborg, Sweden.

She is an English-Swedish-Finnish* singer and songwriter signed to Warner Music in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and recently signed a contract for Interscope Records in the United States.

* Father English, Mother Finnish, born in Sweden. Simple huh.

First up a live performance on TV4 in Sweden.

One last time (Live)

Here's another brilliant track from Miriam.

This time recorded on "Så mycket bättre" ("So Much Better") which is a Swedish reality television show that airs on TV4 as a local version of the original Dutch "Best Singers Of Holland" series. The basic premise is that each artist attempts to do their own version of another artists well-known songs, with each person getting an episode featuring all of their songs being performed by the other musicians.

Miriam certainly produces a polished performance.

Another live performance, this time from Musikhjälpen 2015.
Do I hear a dash of Adele here?
That is not a bad thing.

This is a very moving song.

Miriam sings Lady GaGa @ MDR SPUTNIK Videosessions.
Christelle is a female diatonic harmonica player.
She hails from Les Sables-D'Olonne, France.
And she makes wonderful music.

Music to raise you up and sooth your soul.

In her own words.......

I began my musical career playing the recorder by ear at the age of four, and continued with music in my teens, studying oboe.

I've discovered, and fell completely in love with the harmonica in my late thirty's. From the start I was successful in covering a broad range of genres, Blues, Celtic and Jazz. I've worked a lot at the new technique called overbending which allows one to play the full chromatic scale on a diatonic harmonica.

Amongst the very talented musicians I've played with are: Charlie Musselwhite, Kenny Neal, Melody Gardot Jean-Jacques Milteau, Basile Leroux, a famous French guitarist, and many more...

I've won the title of World harmonica vice champion in 2009.

In 8 years I've gathered more than 17 million hits on Youtube, sharing in all simplicity my music to the world. I'm an official endorser of the Dannecker Harmonicas, ZT Amplifiers, Audix Microphones

This is the first tune I heard from Christelle which really turned me on to her sounds.
Thanks to my old mate Nick Tann for turning me on to her.
And this is an achingly beautiful track.

Here you can almost hear the harmonica sing, this is so beautiful.

Avé Maria - Bach Gounod

Something more expected for the harmonica, now it becomes a blues harp.
And Christelle is crystal clear on this great tune.

Saint James Infirmary blues

"St. James Infirmary Blues", sometimes known as "Gambler's Blues," is an American folksong of anonymous origin, though sometimes credited to the songwriter Joe Primrose (a pseudonym for Irving Mills).
We finish up today with another beautiful piece.
Manhã de Carnaval appeared as a principal theme in the 1959 Portuguese-language film Orfeu Negro (Black Orpheus) by French director Marcel Camus.

And this is one of the most beautiful renditions of the tune I have heard.
Time to re-visit a blues slinger from the UK.
Chantel McGregor has graced these pages before.

I just thought it was time to catch up with her and see what she is up to.
Glad I did, she has a new album recently released.

Chantel's life is music and she has won two British Blues Awards for 'guitarist of the year' in 2013 and '14 respectively.

Her second album "Lose Control" tones down the blues sound and notches up the modern rock production.
And boy does she shred that guitar.

Just check out this track from it.

A real find today, meet Leah.
She is a singer / songwriter of Folk Metal, Celtic Metal, Symphonic Rock music.
She hails from Canada.

Leah has a truly beautiful voice. You just have to experience it, to fall in love with her.
Did I mention she is cute.

Here's a partial quote from her bio. Click the link to read the rest, after you have listened to her music.

Leah has always possessed a firm sense of her identity and avoided any cliché that would define her by society’s expectations. She began singing during her early teenage years, and experimented until she found her unique voice. Upon discovering Celtic music and European symphonic metal, Leah realized she was home; these were the genres that resonated with her soul. Songwriting followed thereafter as Leah found comfort and strength in her musical self-expression. Leah’s hypnotizing voice has drawn comparisons to Enya, Delain, and Loreena McKennitt as she can elegantly slip between the soothingly ethereal, the grippingly powerful, and lyrical folk styles with fluid ease. Her music is equally diverse. Braiding a hypnotising fusion of celestial vocals and sparkling strings, rippling piano, galloping drums and sharp guitar work, she leads her listeners on a passionate journey through haunting sonic landscapes. Her poetic lyrics draw from the inkwells of fantasy, passion, tragedy, and folklore, telling stories that are as arrestingly beautiful as the music. It is not by mere fancy or chance that Leah’s music has a medieval flavor and Celtic overtones: Leah has Irish and Scottish blood in her veins and her heritage can be traced back to the ancient highlands of the British Isles. Innovating with her creative imagination, experience, and her Gaelic ancestry, Leah crafted songs that would eventually be recorded for her first album, Of Earth and Angels.

So enough of the verbiage, let's get to the music.

It's kinda like a bluesy Saturday afternoon.

So check out this cool Aussie blues chick, Fiona Boyes.

She is totally the real deal, voice, guitar slinging and song writing.

Australian Blues guitarist and singer, Fiona Boyes, has been variously described by reviewers as a ‘musical anomaly’, ‘Bonnie Raitt’s evil twin’, or simply as ‘scaring the hell out of me’. She writes, sings and plays just about anything in the Blues realm with passion and authenticity. It is also her immersion in the wide musical and historical traditions that make up the Blues and her deep love of the art-form itself.Equally at home on acoustic or electric guitars, her repertoire is like a Blues travelogue. You’ll hear pre-war Delta slide, wailing laments, single chord Mississippi Hills grooves, intricate and beautiful Piedmont finger picking, rollicking New Orleans barrelhouse, greasy Memphis soul, driving classic Chicago sounds, the country stylings of Texas swing, and the uptown sounds of he West Coast.

Let's get to the music, first up a rollicking blues about a place in Florida.

Fiona Boyes plays cigar box guitar at Wangaratta Jazz and Blues Festival 2014.

Lana Del Rey has graced these pages before, in fact her post from January 2012 is the most popular post on this blog. See the chart on the left of the screen.

So I keep up with her and get all of her albums etc, but I'm really liking this new video with Father John Misty.

Is this a cult or a harem? I dunno, so just enjoy it.
Today we get to meet Rosie Carney, the charismatic 18-year-old singer/songwriter from Donegal, Ireland.

She writes some really beautiful songs and she has a voice that was made to sing such songs.

Gathering inspiration from the beautifully rugged landscape of her home, Rosie Carney writes songs that are at once spare yet achingly beautiful. Carney is confirmed to perform at SXSW this year and will release a series of singles in support of her U.S. visit.

This is the first of those singles, very atmospheric and etherial.

Winter
According to Rosie Carney in an interview with the Huffington Post...

"‘The concept of the song is really hidden in it’s title. It is partially dark, partially stripped back to the bone, if you can say that about emotions. It was inspired by the events that occur at the end of any relationship, and how you do feel the vulnerability, the rawness, the real human emotion. It’s not meant to be all sad…..after all, the season winter holds the promise of life, of bursting forth into spring, doesn’t it?’"

For my regular readers, sorry for the lack of posts recently. I have been having problems with my eyes for quite a few months now, I have finally had surgery to correct that situation. As the old songs goes "I can see clearly now" so hopefully will be able to get back to posting regularly.
The delightful Catself is back with one of the least scary vampires ever.

This really cool song was released on Friday the 13th and I missed its release.
Time to make up for that.

Enjoy.
