Nina Simone

Thanks to Glen for reminding me.

But then again who needs an excuse to post anything by the great Nina Simone.

If she had still been with us Nina would have been 80 today.

So let's get into some of her music.

First up a couple of her songs interspersed with an interesting interview, circa 1968.
And boy was she looking good in that interview.  Love that fly hat.

Revolution & Strange Fruit

This has to be early sixties. Nina in a jazzy mood. And what a pianist.

Love Me Or Leave Me

So here we are in 1969, and complete with piano stool adjustment and a traditional song that she made into a true Nina classic.

Black Is The Color Of My True Love's Hair

Not sure of the where or when of this version,
Nina sang this classic in many different ways, and all of them good.

House of New Orleans
