Hanne Kolstø

Today we feature yet another dynamic talent from Scandinavia. Hanne Kolstø hails from Kristiansand near Oslo.
The one thing I'm slightly bummed about is that very little of this talent existed in Norway when I lived there in the early eighties. Norwegian music at the time was either the classics or the very strange olden time folk music.
Most of the pop / rock music in the Norsk charts in those days was from the UK and the USA.

So all of these beautifully talented young ladies from Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Iceland are certainly a bright spot on the current music scene.
Hanne Kolstø is one of Norway's most exciting singers and songwriters. With an unique voice and intuitive sense of melodies she lures you into her world of intelligent lyrics and flourishing creativity. Always willing to experiment, she mixes all possible genres – one moment she wispers softly in your ear, the next she howls with despair.
Hanne is a hyper-active artist and songwriter, with six albums in the last four years. Her projects range from the epic 90's flirting of Love:Fi to the mystical trip-hop-ensenmble Thelma & Clyde.
Keep an eye out for Hanne's first album, Riot Break, and also be on the lookout for a new release later this year.
