Hailed by The New York Times as a “best-kept secret” with an “impressively absorbing” debut album, Becca Stevens has established herself as a singer/composer of enormous talent. Her songs expand and blur the boundaries of folk, jazz, and pop while engaging the the listener through keen poetic observation, rich musical language, and beguiling singing. Her musical roots are in classical guitar, the folk music of her native North Carolina, and jazz, with additional influences ranging from West African rhythms to eccentric pop.
Hailed by me as just simply amazing!
I just love the arrangements, and Becca's voice!
Wow! What a voice.
Her album, Weightless, from last year has been a constant on the player.
Why did I not feature her before?
I don't really know why, my bad I guess.
If you don't know about Becca and her band just take a listen, and even if you do I'm sure you will take another listen.
This is a really cool video, not only did Becca write and sing the song, she wrote the screenplay for the video.
