Ana Silvera

Let's start today of in a grand manner.
Welcome to the beautiful voice of Ana Silvera.
London born Ana is of Syrian / Irish descent and did I mention she has a beautiful voice?
If you get the chance make sure to check out her album, The Aviary.
As a teenager, Ana regularly performed with the English National Opera before travelling the world, living for a stint in Ibiza under a fig tree, joining the anti-folk movement in Berlin and most recently, forging exciting creative collaborations in Brooklyn with film makers, musicians and dancers. Constantly exploring various styles of music - singing in european jazz clubs, recording a brooding cover of the hit 'Rosanna' by 80's band 'Toto', and performing Britney Spears' Womanizer' in her live set - Ana continually adapts in her own way, all she is made curious by. Bjork, Fever Ray and Gillian Welch are particular current inspirations.
Probably the most beautiful piece of music I have heard in a long while.
Letter from New York "Letter from New York" written and arranged by Ana Silvera, performed at the Roundhouse, London with Imogen Heap, the Estonian Television Girls Choir and the Holst Singers. Conducted by Aarne Saluveer.

I'm guessing this is from the same concert.

Two songs from Ana's brilliant first album, The Aviary. The wonderful Ana Silvera returned to Grapevine@Bedfords, Norwich on 16th February 2012 to play for us. It's always an honour to have an artist of Ana's standing sharing her her music with us, in our intimate little venue, and she was, as ever, stunning. Here she sings " Song for Daniel " and " Hometown" ", both of which can be found on her superb new album " The Aviary ".

The final video today, another amazing song.
