The Mad Pride

So here we go with some amazing music today.  Meet Rowan Galagher, liek so many other talented people he comes from the land down under.  And he is, or is part of The Mad pride.

Combining 60s psychedelia, folk noir, post-rock, neoclassical and darkwave, The Mad Pride has been described as haunting and ominous like Syd Barrett and David Bowie collaborating on a Tim Burton film soundtrack. Comparisons are often made to Radiohead, Grizzly Bear, Erik Satie, Opeth, Nick Cave and Leonard Cohen. It is the solo recording project of singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Rowan Galagher.

Since 2009 Rowan has released 3 original albums and he is currently working on a 4th. He has moved from avant-garde psych-folk experimentation to cinematic soundscapes and towards a classical style of psychedelic rock. His DIY ethic motivated him to play the majority of the instruments himself and record them alone in his Wollongong based apartment.

The Mad Pride are
Rowan Galagher - vocals, guitars, bass, drums, piano, keys, banjo.
Greg Hughes - electric guitar on 'Insane' & 'Stay Here'.
Clinton Spence - drums on 'Hold On'

The Mad Pride (or Rowan Galagher) is almost a one man Pink Floyd.
There is some really groovy music going one here.

Scapegoat
Scapegoat from 'Scary Poppins' by The Mad Pride. Folk Noir mixed with Psychedelic Post-Rock.
People say this song reminds them of David Bowie and Syd Barrett (from Pink Floyd).

Greg Hughes can be seen in photos taken from Moontown days.

Here's a bunch more great sounds, check 'em out.
