The singer/songwriter Frida Amundsen is from the small town Vaksdal (close to Bergen) in Norway. She got a record deal with EMI Music fall 2009. She had sent out a demo to several record companies, together with two local producers (Lars Hustoft and Yngve Høyland). A few days later the A&R from EMI Music Norway visited Frida and the deal was signed. The young girl with the big voice has been working with Hustoft since then, besides finishing school -- where she was also studying music.
Fridas favorite artists are singers like Ellie Goulding, Adele, KT Tunstall, Eva Cassidy and Sara Bareilles. In May 2011 her first single "Closer" was released in Norway. The cute pop song was directly listed on several big national radio stations in Norway -- and Frida has already been able to do a lot of promotion and small gigs. The single "Closer" is produced by Lars Hustoft and Yngve Høyland. The track was actually the most played Norwegian track in 2011.This is that aforementioned song which is included on her most recent album, released in April in Norway, September Blue.
