All Girl Bands - Back in the day

About six days ago I posted a piece on Zepparella the all female Led Zeppelin cover band. Which got me to thinking about other all female bands.
Now if you use that as a search code via YouTube you would be amazed and impressed as to what you would find.
So I figured to do a post or two about all female bands.
So today we start with a bunch of bands from the 20's through the early 50's.

One I remember personally from when I was a kid, they used to put them on the radio, and very early TV back in England. Ivy Benson was a big favorite.

Ivy Benson And Her All Girl Orchestra

Thelma White and Her All Girl Orchestra During the 1940's there were several all girl jazz bands touring- the men up to the mid-40's were being drafted. Pretty hot show.

The Ingenues - Band Beautiful (1928) Here's a crazy little clip of the all girl orchestra The Ingenues. Try to spot all the 1928 hit songs. Whatever happened to this kind of entertainment. Gee!

Another from back in the day
The Jeanette Hackett Girls and the Swing Sirens

Ada Leonard's All-American Girls

Rita Rio : My Margarita

Of course none of the stills are of the ladies in the bands, just selected beautiful actresses of the period.  How many did you recognize?
