Ane Brun, Ane Brun what more to say. Ane Brun has a new album out, and it's a double album so plenty to listen to.
The album is called It All Starts With One.
9.12.2011 - I've been listening to the album almost non-stop since I posted this, all I can say is that there is not one bad or even half bad track on it. Amazingly beautiful album. It's gonna be in my top ten for the year, and that's for sure.
Do You Remember
Music video by Ane Brun performing Do You Remember. (C) 2011 Balloon Ranger Recordings AB. For all you Swedish and Norwegian speakers here's Ane being interviewed regarding the album.
Now this one is not on the album, but was performed at a memorial service for the Norwegian shooting tragedy. She makes a perfect counterpoint to Sivert Høyem, and they perform a perfect version of this great R.E.M. song.
Talking of artistic collaborations you won't find one much better than this. Peter Gabriel and Ane Brun performing Don't Give Up. Wow!!
Don't Give Up
with the New Blood Orchestra
And finally today an amazing truly beautiful performance of a Björk song from last year.
Jóga (Björk cover, live 2010)
Ane Brun sings Björk's "Jóga" at the Polar Music Prize Ceremony in Stockholm, August 30, 2010. The laureates (prize winners) that year were Björk and the Italian composer Ennio Morricone.
OK, so I lied. One more, couldn't resist one more amazing track from the new album. Not much of a video, more just the audio. But an amazing track anyway. Love it.
Do You Remember
Do You Remember? They whispered through the branches as they danced with their shadows in the darkest light. Do You Remember? They called amongst the dust and memories bathing in the fractured light. Do You Remember? They cried as the flakes of snow coated dreams kissed her skin.
