Yesterday based on a friends recommendation I checked out Radio Javan, always on the lookout for another music source. And when I got there I did not know any of the artists, so I picked one at random. And by extreme luck I picked Mehrnoosh. I may have run across her name before but never had heard her. And I heard this first song.
This has to be one of the most beautiful and soulful pieces of music I have heard in a long, long time. I have no idea what Mehrnoosh is singing, my knowledge of Persian is non-existent. But just listen to the sound, let it fold over you like a warm summer evening. Simply amazing.

This one is a bit more upbeat, but Mehrnoosh's voice is as beautiful as ever.
Cheshmat
For some reason the intro to this song had me expecting a Leonard Cohen song, it has that jazzy feel to it. Another beautiful song. And the middle eastern influence is very evocative in the middle part. Love it.
