Lola Dutronic

On Lola Dutronic’s MySpace page, they describe themselves as “A French Pop/Electronica Duo”, located somewhere between St. Etienne meets Portishead meets Nouvelle Vague.
For more info you should check out their MySpace page.
They are from Toronto, Berlin, and Paris.
My inspiration for this post also said this new EP "Musique" is # 5 in Greece currently.

As always Wikipedia has the skinny:
Lola Dutronic is a Canadian electronica duo, consisting of remixer/producer Richard Citroen and vocalist Frankie Hart. The band adapts songs from the French and British sixties (from artists such as Serge Gainsbourg, Françoise Hardy, Brigitte Bardot or John Barry) with modern electronic arrangements. They have issued four albums so far.
Richard Citroen was also a member of UK-based version of The Diodes.
Despite their reputation for imaginative cover versions, their most successful song has been the self-penned "Les Cheveux de mon amour", which has been featured on the soundtrack of the television drama series The L Word.
The band's 2nd album, "The Love Parade" was short listed for a 2008 Grammy Nomination in the dance/electronica category.
2008 also saw some changes in the band with the departure of original vocalist Frankie Hart, and her replacement by Berlin-based vocalist Lola Dee. After an abortive attempt to relocate to Berlin permanently, a new album was recorded there with Mike Garson (David Bowie, Smashing Pumpkins) guesting on piano. The band have also parted company with Bongo Beat Records and are now based in both Toronto and Berlin.
2010 saw the band sign with Marty Thau (Blondie, Suicide, The New York Dolls etc.) and his newly-revived Red Star label.
