Google tells you all about their new Google Maps Street views. Pretty cool, don't know how much use it would be in Fort Wayne or Hicksville. Although it works very nicely for San Francisco bay area, even in Fremont. All the blue streets have a view.

TISWAS

TISWAS was a live kid's program that ran back in the 70's on a Saturday morning. I was not a kid at the time, neither did I have a kid in the house at the time. But this was must see TV before someone else invented the phrase. Did I say it was a live program for kid's. It was hilarious. There were many segments to it, here's a sampling. What is missing is the clips of them talking to and interacting with the kids which were some of the funniest things ever.

Sicko - Michael Moore

Here's the trailer for Michael Moore's new movie Sicko. I'll hold judgment until I've seen it, but if he is holding up the British NH as a good thing I don't think I am going to agree with him. Fahrenheit 911 was still a great movie. It looks like he has some more primo Bushisms in this movie.

Shake it up baby, yeah

This amazing 6 year old was on the Ellen show the other day. Having attempted the guitar at various times in my life I am doubly impressed. You have to watch to the end to see his face when Ellen gives him a spectacular gift. But also take note of his blues phrasing on his second selection. I don't think you can get the blues at six, but he sure can play them.

Neti Pot drought

Dr Oz was on Oprah extolling the wonders of the Neti Pot to clear out your sinuses, and lo and behold you cannot buy one anywhere. My wife is wanting to try it, but everywhere locally is sold out. So of course I offered to get her one from the Internet. Ha Ha, same message everywhere "not currently in stock". Once again bask in the wonders of Oprah.

Baba O'Riley

I was listening to Baba O'Riley earlier and started to wonder how many different versions were there around. I wondered who would be foolish enough to attack a classic, we see it frequently on "talent" shows (usually a bad move) and the only other two who have done a passable version for me were Pearl Jam and Blue Man Group.
So I went to You Tube and searched for "Baba O'Riley" and came up with 546 videos. Now these are not neccessarily all different, in fact I easily spotted some doubles, but then there are lots of ways to misspell Baba OReilly for instance came up with 60. So who knows what other ways it could be spelled. And now I am wondering which song has the most videos on You Tube? Does anybody know?

On a personal note I used to listen to The Goon Show every week as a kid, I think at the time I could do every voice (that was just my opinion, not shared by anyone else). Shutup Eccles. At school The Ying Tong song was performed by a group of sixth formers in a very funny miming section for the end of year show. If you search around many of the radio shows are available on MP3 formats, as well as CD's from the good old Auntie Beeb.

Scientists in Australia have teamed with Fosters to create the first Beer Battery. I dunno about that, after a few beers I keep going, and going, and going.
Then there is a special way to open a beer in Scandinavia, where beer is everything. They do it by rubbing two beer bottles together. It must be good to be a Swedish boy scout.
